In 2013 I helped out a few pals at Blinkinlabs with a design for a lamp made with their RGB LED tape called Blinkytape.  This pill shaped lamp is paired with a program that allows it to syncopate with music thanks to Blinkytape tech.    When connected to a laptop playing music with USB, the party pill has color changing lights.  Without input for audio the pill is simply a lighting device in white.
